Plan Your Tomorrow Tonight!
Planning out your day the night before makes it much more likely that you’ll accomplish what it is you set out to do on any given day. Whether you use a calendar or a to-do list doesn’t matter; whichever you choose, be realistic and do what works for you. The important thing is that you do it the night before. Why?
Well, there are only 24 hours in a day and no matter how much coffee you drink, you have to sleep. So why not plan for sleep. Yes, plan what time you’ll go to bed every night and what time you’ll get up. Make it a habit. With trial and error, you can find your very own “productivity system” and you’ll be so surprised at how productive you will actually be.
Planning and scheduling the night before makes your productivity success skyrocket because it provides clarity and structure. For example, my best mornings look like this:
o Meditation – 30 Minuteso Work-out – 45 Minutes
o Review Day/Cool Down – 30 minutes
o Visualize what will happen – 30 Minutes
o Get dressed and absolutely cute for the day – 45 minutes
Knowing this is what I need in order for my day to be productive, if I have to leave the house by 9am, that means I have to get up no later than 6am. Your first 2 hours awake are the most critical because they set the tone for the day.
Give yourself a basic framework, add only useful things…things that add value to your day. Remember to be flexible, because if something doesn’t work and needs to be changed, you’ll need to make the necessary adjustments to make the best use of your time.
Scheduling the night before removes guesswork from what your day will be like, it provides structure, momentum, and most of all productivity.
And we all want to be productive badasses!
